Building children.
Mentoring parents.
Hi, I’m Sarah. Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel can be difficult, especially when neurodiverse challenges are in the mix. It feels exhausting, heartbreaking and never-ending. But there is always hope, there always is, there must be…so that the reason you gave life has purpose and meaning.
Hope is powerful, hope is life giving, hope is transformative.
It’s the reason I do what I do.
I am a modern-day Mary Poppins for Special Needs children and their parents.
Making children feel loved and safe is the key to unlocking their full potential. I believe laughter, joy and a song or two is the best medicine, enabling us to get some serious work achieved.
With over 11 years as a qualified Special Needs Educator, private tutor, and life coach, my bag of lived experience is deep. From primary-aged to neurodiverse teens, and young adults with complex disorders, I’ve tackled it all...and more.
Every case is beautifully-unique, so cookie-cutters don’t cut it. I work one-on-one with children and parents to listen, observe, and connect. I ease the load by sharing insights, tips, and hope. And I develop custom techniques and frameworks for effective learning and joyful living.
I’ve walked in your worn-out shoes.
Over 16+ years of being on the home and educational frontline, alongside my beautiful artistic and autistic daughter and as a Special Needs Educator, I’ve led children, grown-ups, and parents on a journey to stability and independence.
I’ve experienced the highs and lows of parenting, specialist appointments, and the schooling system. Yet that moment seeing your child’s eyes light up, no fear, no anxiety, makes the struggle worthwhile. That seemingly insurmountable hurdle has magically shrunk to a stepping stone. Everything clicks into place, and life has shifted to a whole new track of inspiring possibilities.
Despite the size of the problem, micro or macro, hope is not deferred.
HOPE is right here!

Here’s how I can help.
Grappling with the volume of homework and concerns of falling behind academically?
IN SCHOOL LIFE
Struggling seeing your child not having friends at school?
Feeling like they are always in trouble but no idea why?
My Mrs James approach is a one-off recipe for every child I work with. The only cookie-cutters they’ll see is if we are baking. I observe, absorb and decode how they think, then create another way for them to learn.
All brains work differently, so through my calm and loving manner your child will feel safe, secure, and accepted (that’s no.1 in my book) then we see the real change happen! Suddenly they are calmer, more engaged, and learn better than ever.

AT HOME
Battling frequent meltdowns?
Need parenting skills to be sharpened?
Concerned about burnout, not just for you, but other siblings too?
Home is often the safe place for your child to let go and be themselves (warts and all). The after-school decompression time is key but can be an exhausting rollercoaster. Pent up emotions are let loose, snowballing through the household and knocking everyone for six (yet again). I remember these moments well, and still deal with them.
The difference is I have now developed robust tools, tips and techniques to minimise the fallout. Peace CAN be restored to your family space. It just takes time, another perspective and no judgement.
Bring the laughter back to your home.
FOR PARENTS
Bamboozled navigating the NDIS Scheme?
Running out of ideas to help your child thrive?
Going to therapy but still feeling something’s missing?
This is not a solo gig. As a Special Needs private coach I’m here for parents as well as children. I partner with families as they navigate the system and tackle challenges along the bumpy path. I’m a mentor, sounding board, confidante and champion for mums and dads.
Over 16 years of hands-on, brain-on, heart-on experience, and a talent for seeing things from a different perspective, plus my tried and tested Mrs James bag of tricks means together we will see your child (and you) genuinely thrive.
Let’s smooth this journey together.
